John Short; Managing Director

Our Managing Director John Short is the fourth-generation owner of EV2 Sportswear.
John originally joined the business in the 90s when his father owned the company. He graduated from James Cook University with a degree in IT before working internationally in the field, including 4 years in the US. After he joined the family business, he learned all aspects of running an apparel business.
In 2004, John purchased the business from his father and focused his efforts on customer service and growth. Under John’s leadership, EV2 Sportswear has grown internationally with a subsidiary company established in the UK, online sales around the globe and manufacturing sites in China, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Today, as an Australian-owned family business, our growth continues in Australia and overseas. John’s role includes mentoring the next generation of leaders as he continues working in the business in a strategic leadership role.

In his spare time, you will find John spending time with his wife and 3 beautiful daughters or playing cricket for Norths Cricket Club, EV2 Cricket or Queensland Masters.
